What role did you have in the film?

I played the role of Jane, Mike and Jake’s mother.

What was the best part of the filming experience?

The best part of the filming experience was definetly meeting all of the cast and crew and being able to be a big part of the filming process.

What was the most difficult part of filming or preparing for filming?

The part I played was a very emotional mother. It was tough to initially get into character, however being that I already have past experience with my own son (with drugs), it made it easier to remember how I dealt with the situation (then) and incorporate those feelings into my character.

What do you hope this film accomplishes?

For me, this film has already accomplished something very important. It had people involved in something very meaningful. I think we all came away from The Influence with a renewed understanding for the destruction drugs can cause. My hope for this movie is that it causes young people to think…very hard about their decisions and make positive choices!

What other film projects have you worked on?

I came into this film with absolutely no acting experience. This project was such a learning experience. I was fascinated by the whole filming process as well as the amount of organization it takes to complete such an ambitious project. I was impressed by how everyone came together and did their job whether it was hair, make-up, wardrobe, lighting and sound or, of course, the acting. There were definitely some truly talented people.

What's next for you?

I hope to work on other future projects with Kerry Girling and continue to build my acting experience from here.

What advice do you have for others trying to get into the industry?

When the opportunity comes your way, take a chance! I was found on FaceBook (through friends) and interestingly made a match with what the producer was looking for. You never know when your opportunity will arise.
